What To Bring

• sleeping bag, pillow, (bunks are simple; you may want to bring an extra foam pad)

• towel, soap, toiletries (bathrooms are in the lodge, not cabins)

• earplugs, medications, alarm clock

• seasonal clothes (umbrella or raincoat) and a change of footwear

• flashlight there are no outdoor lights in some areas

• pen and paper / notebook

• snacks (personal or to share especially for the evenings

• extra footwear

• for sharing your favourite book, movies, readings, or song / record to share

• art or anything that inspires you

Three meals Sat, and two on Sun are provided, and so are modest snacks. There is no dinner Friday night. Some items to roast around the fire will be supplied.

OPTIONAL STUFF FOR ACTIVITIES:

• for outdoor activities – canoe, bike, hiking boots or fur-lined swim trunks

• for memories – camera or phone

• for talent show or entertaining – musical instruments, poems, stories, songs

• for sharing your favourite book, movies, readings, or song / record to share

• for workshops or discussions you propose, any material items you may need

• anything else you need to be comfortable.

Snacks are provided Friday evening. Wise men eat or bring food before arrival.

 

Sasamat Outdoor Centre has a beautiful lodge with washrooms, showers, indoor and outdoor fireplaces as well as eating and meeting space. There are eleven heated cabins, and two yurts close to the lodge that sleep 4-8 each. With between 40 and 60 men men at the gathering, few will have to sleep on a top bunk. You do bed assignments on a “first come first serve” basis. Some cabins will be designated snore free. All meals will have non-meat options.
